When flying to the Island there are several options. The closest airport is in Pelston, Michigan. Shuttle service to the Island ferry docks is available from Pelston. It is also possible to fly to Traverse City, a two-hour drive to the ferry, and Flint, a three-hour drive.

Much easier to drive to St. Igance (you get to view the bridge) and then take the Air Taxi ($20) From St. Igance Airport to Mackinac Island Airport. If you fly commercial to Pellston or Traverse City they will also come and meet yoru plane then take you right to the Island Airport. Very cool, good views, resonable rates, and first class service with an island horse carriage meeting you at the island airport to take you to town.
